Graduate from the University of Oxford
Dr Amalee Rae McCoy leads the Scaling Up Parenting for Lifelong Health in Thailand Project, part of the Global Parenting Initiative. This is an international collaboration between universities, foundations, and implementing partners, with a focus on promoting access to free, evidence-based, and playful parenting support to parents. Based at the Peace Culture Foundation, a Thai non-profit organisation, Amalee’s work focuses on the scale-up of an intervention shown to reduce violence against children, improve parental mental health, and strengthen parent-child relationships in Thailand.
In Amalee’s experience, her UK educational experience was exceptional, largely due to the quality of supervision and training she received during her doctoral studies.
Amalee hopes to continue engaging in research, advocacy, and capacity building for the prevention of violence against children in Thailand and the wider Southeast Asian region, with a focus on interventions that have proven to be effective.
