The British Council English team will soon begin an exciting and innovative new project in Thailand in partnership with TRUE Plookpanya, the CSR wing of TRUE Corporation. The project, called ‘English…We Can’, is a unique project which will train teachers from 40 rural schools from around Thailand in English Language and Classroom Methodology. At the same time, the project will also improve teachers’ ICT and digital communication skills. All of this will lead to better quality English teaching in primary schools in rural Thailand.
The project will consist of three components: face-to-face training at the British Council in Bangkok; online training through the British Council’s Moodle platform and a weekly webinar via TRUE’s iMeeting platform. The course will be conducted by British Council trainers and delivered through TRUE technology and connectivity. The blended programme will last for five months, starting in mid-July. Not only will the project be of benefit to teachers and their schools. In addition, one lucky school will be selected for a special educational trip to the UK in the New Year of 2014.
