About the European Day of Languages
Established in 2001 by the Council of Europe and held each year on 26th September, the European Day of Languages is an opportunity to celebrate language diversity and promote language studies. Several events are held on that day throughout Europe and other parts of the world. Meetings and talks, exhibitions and games are organized to enable people to appreciate Europe’s tremendous wealth of languages: there are more than 200!
