About Going Global 2018:
The British Council is organising the Going Global Conference from Wednesday 2 to Friday 4 May 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Going Global offers an open forum for global leaders of international education to discuss current issues, consisting of a series of collaborative sessions that focus on the year’s chosen themes. Over 1,000 registered delegates from across the tertiary (further and higher) education sectors and various other sectors with perspectives on international education attend each year.
The conference theme for Going Global 2018 is “Global connections, local impact”. It will focus on the role of tertiary education in creating 21st Century skills, knowledge and impact for society-wide good. The conference will explore how tertiary education institutions help to develop globally-minded citizens, acting as conduits to international partnerships, creating the conditions for industry collaboration and social innovation. They also act as agents of social change, inclusion and mobility. We will look at this through five lenses: new skills new graduates, social mobility and international mobility, demonstrating impact, future-proofing HEI systems, and new models of delivery.
