STUDYING ENGINEERING AND MEDICINE IN THE UK: WHAT LIES AHEAD AND CAREER PATHS 

This is the fourth episode of the Road to Studying in the UK Mini-Series, the special online seminar from the British Council, helping you to prepare for your study abroad planning with confidence. 

The world is changing. Innovation and advanced technology are leading the way and are critical success factors for many businesses. Likewise, healthcare Is becoming more important across the world, particularly as the Covid-19 pandemic impacts everyone's lives. 

In this episode, we will hear from an alumnus with extensive experience in the engineering world. We will also be joined by a medicine student in the UK who will share their experience with us. An HR expert from the leading company, PTT, will share tips on applying for jobs after graduation. 

The seminar will conclude with an IELTS Reading tips workshop and an interactive activity with IELTS Coach* to help boost your IELTS reading score!

Salin Pattanukul

Salin Pattanukul

Human Resources, PTT

Salin is currently working in the Human Resources department at PTT, specialising in recruitment and selection, as well as learning and development. After obtaining a bachelor's degree and master's degree in Thailand with first class honours, Salin went to the UK and graduated in Human Resources and Knowledge Management from Lancaster University. Her life motto is “Do what you love, love what you do.”

President, Imperial College Alumni Association (Thailand)

Suvichak Thongborisoot graduated with MEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Imperial College London. While studying, he was the President of Imperial College Thai Society and Vice President of Samaggi Samagom (Thai Student Association in the UK). In addition, he had the opportunity to study a finance module alongside the standard course content and work in the investment sector, paving the way for a career in a private equity fund company where he now works. 

Bhurint Siripanthong

Bhurint Siripanthong

After completing his high school education in Thailand, Bhurint received the King Scholarship to study in the UK. He spent two years with a college and received 4 A*s at A-level. He then progressed to a bachelors' degree at the University of Cambridge where he obtained a BA in Pharmacology with First Class honours. Bhurint is currently in his fourth year of the MB Bchir programme at the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine.
