Crafting Futures is a global programme run by the British Council to strengthen the craft sector around the globe and reduce social and economic inequality. Crafting Futures aims to empower women in the craft sector in Southeast Asia to increase social and economic well-being and revitalise their cultural assets by providing inclusive opportunities through design as well as social and creative enterprise development.
Crafting Futures: Thailand engages with artisans in different parts of Thailand through capacity building programmes, with the main beneficiaries being women artisans. The project also provides support and knowledge access to craft networks and entrepreneurs. Activities include the Crafting Futures: Tai Lue project in Pua District, Nan; the Crafting Futures: Wanita project in Pattani and Narathiwat, and the Digital Craft Toolkit.
