British Council, the UK’s organisation for international cultural relations, incorporated by Royal Charter and registered as a charity under the Charities Act in England and Wales (Charity No: 2091131), is pleased to inform you that we, together with Thailand Creative and Design Centre (TCDC), will be organising a Regional Forum entitled “Creative Hubs and Cities” on Tuesday 10th October 2017 at Thailand Creative and Design Center, Bangkok, Thailand. 

The one-day forum aims to explore the concept of creative hubs and how they contribute to creative cities. It will also discuss the value of arts and culture relating to the question of culture and cities, as well as policy support for the growth and development of creative economy, through case studies and best practices from Southeast Asia, East Asia, and the UK.

Objectives:

•Building awareness about the importance of creative cities and hubs in the creative economy development 

•Creating a public dialogue to foster multi-level collaboration in enhancing the ecosystem to support the growth and development of creative cities and hubs in Southeast Asia

•Exploring the diverse landscape of hubs and building a community of creative hubs in Southeast Asia and the UK for knowledge and skills exchange and collaboration

•Promoting the role of creative hubs in supporting young entrepreneurs and creative professionals to build the creative economy in the region 

Audience: 200 people including hub representatives and professionals in the field of design & creativity, policy development, urban planning, city regeneration, creative cities, creative hubs, education

Language: English with Thai simultaneous translation 

The Forum is free of charge. Simultaneous translation in Thai and English will be provided.

•Mr. Takuya Nomura  - General Producer of Knowledge Capital Association and a Policy Advisor to the Cabinet Office, Japan

•Mr. Somchai Lertsutiwong, CEO of Advanced Info Services PLC., one of Thailand's biggest telecommunications companies.
