We place emphasis on developing individual strengths within a nurturing environment of small class sizes and excellent pastoral care. Pre A Level Year is available for international pupils wanting to study A levels in 3 years with additional English Language classes where necessary.

Outside of the classroom, there are many opportunities for extra-curricular activities in performing arts, music, sport and charity work. There are excellent on-site sporting facilities and over 30 acres of grounds to explore, whilst the village and local shops are just on the doorstep. We have newly refurbished boarding houses as well as a new Sixth Form Centre and Common Room. Boarders enjoy a wide range of enriching weekend activities and staff are always there to share our pupils' successes and help them with any problems.

Academic results are consistently high. In 2017, 65% of A level results were at A*-B, with 33% at A* or A, all well above the national average. For GCSE, half the grades awarded were A*-B or 9-6, where 50% of the cohort achieved 9 or more GCSES at grades A* to C or 9 to 4.
