Role overview

We are looking for 2-3 Instructors (Teachers) to work in our partner schools in Chiang Mai and Mae Rim, Thailand. This is an excellent opportunity to join our dynamic Partner School Operations team in Northern Thailand.

Our network of partner schools is growing and hourly paid instructors who wish to join us may work in a variety of teaching environments in Chiang Mai and Mae Rim. We work in fully-furnished and well-equipped British Council activity rooms, delivering in-school language tuition to Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary students, within their school day and/or after school and at the weekend.

In addition to courses run at the centres, the British Council also delivers several large and prestigious school teaching contracts, which entail instructors being based exclusively at mainstream educational institutions.

Teachers in partner schools teach English to very young learners (aged from 3 upwards) as well as primary and secondary aged learners. Instructors who join our partner schools may work in a variety of contexts, teaching English to very young learners (aged from 3 upwards) as well as primary and secondary aged learners as part of fully integrated or opt-in school-day programs during the week or after-school courses (weekdays and/or weekends).

Our team also takes part in teacher training, extracurricular and value-adding events, and school activities. Opportunities to attend INSETT sessions at Regina Coeli will be provided, as well as opportunities for two-way peer observations with our team of full-time teachers based at our other partner schools in Chiang Mai.

Instructors at partner schools typically work as part of a small team alongside two young learner assistants (YLAs) who are fully trained in our teaching approach and will help you liaise with the school. Ongoing support will be provided by the Academic Manager, who is based at Regina Coeli College, as well as the Sales and Partnership Manager.

To be considered for one of these roles, you need to have at least two years of teaching experience post-certificate i.e. Cambridge CELTA/Trinity CertTESOL, have an undergraduate degree and also have experience of teaching at Kindergarten, Primary level or Secondary level.

A PGCE, DELTA or Early Years qualification would be an advantage, as would be experience teaching in a mainstream school context.

Enquiries about the post can be sent to the East Asia Regional Teacher Recruitment team based in Singapore.
