British Council Thailand and the Office of Education Commission, Ministry of Education, are working collaboratively in organising a conference on Educating the Next Generation of Workforce: Asian Perspectives on Innovation, Integration, and English on 24-25 June 2013 at Centara Grand at Central World, Bangkok, Thailand.

In 2015, the ASEAN Economic Community will be established allowing the 10 Member States to increase integration around three main pillars: politics, economics and socio-cultural areas. An important factor for the community to take into consideration is the development of human resources among member states. This conference will be organised to seek guidelines and provide a forum for discussion in capacity building. This will support governments in their preparation of human resources for the ASEAN Community with an emphasis on innovation, integration, and English.

Over two days, the conference will explore and debate the challenges and opportunities facing graduates and the employment industry as well as the education sector. The discussion during the conference will contribute towards positive developments in Thailand and ASEAN’s education policy and plan. It will provide an opportunity to share any issues or concerns to do with education as well as to brainstorm possible solutions to potential problems.

Participants will include a wide range academics, professionals, and experts in human resources and education from Thailand, countries in East Asia, and the UK to discuss and exchanges ideas in this area.
