Boot camp pre-arrival

The aim of this website is to give you essential pre-departure information so that you can start to make arrangements to join us in Thailand. If you have any questions that aren’t answered in here, please feel free to get in touch directly so we can answer them.

This website covers some pre-arrival tasks and information and some information about post-arrival topics. There is also a checklist of tasks and documents which you need. Please make sure that you look at the checklist and have all documents and copies of all documents. Please ask us as soon as possible if there is anything you need from us which you haven’t received yet.

Just a word on the name of the project. The ‘official’ name of the project, as used by both the Thai Ministry of Education and British Council Thailand is the Regional English Training Centres (RETC) project. However, early on, a previous Minister of Education coined the name “Boot Camp” and ministry officials, Thai teachers and British Council project staff refer informally to the project as ‘Boot Camp’.

Although we're aiming for this to be the most detailed, up-to-date information that we can give you, this is an exciting and dynamic project so please be aware that changes can occur at any time.

One of the cluster managers (Jonathan.Bennett@britishcouncil.or.th) is assigned to keep the site as up-to-date as possible and we want the site to reflect your needs so please feel free to contact us with suggestions for information that can be added.
