An 11 Finalists of UK Alumni Awards for Social Impact

Sitta Marattanachai was selected as a finalist for the Social Impact Award category at the Thailand Study UK Alumni Awards 2020 for her social work in youth empowerment in solving environmental issues.

She is a Head of Business Development at Energy and Environment Consulting Group (EEG). In the performance of her full-time jobs, Sitta has managed business performance for the waste recovery facilities in Ayutthaya and Samutsakorn Provinces and collaborated government agencies such as the Pollution Control Department, Department for Marine and Coastal Resources to develop environmental protection projects. She has been successfully developed organic compost from municipal waste on a large-scale. It is a promising technology to reduce waste to landfill and replace chemical fertilizer used in agriculture.

Apart from her full time jobs, she is actively empowering young people in sustainable development. She is the founder of Smogathon Thailand which is an annual hackathon event engaging young minds to solve air pollution in Northern Thailand. She is also a co-founder of My Better Country Hackathon, a hackathon community that allows young minds to deliver innovative ideas and policy recommendations about public service improvement to government bodies.
