St Edmund's College
City/Town: Ware
First founded in 1568, St Edmund's College is a very old, very English, traditional Catholic boarding and day school for girls and boys near London and Cambridge. Our 400 acre green campus ensures a safe and healthy environment for young students to live and work. All through the year, we provide the full English curriculum, GCSE / IGCSE and A level, leading to entry into the top 20 English universities.
Overseas students, who make up only 10-12% of the total during the academic year, are fully integrated into mainstream classes from day one but also offered EAL support across the curriculum at no extra cost if they need it, and we also offer a taster 'preparation for boarding' course in July and August, where we teach English through other school curriculum subjects. It is appropriate for the international student who already has a high level of English and is looking for something more interesting. Of course we have a full programme of sports, social activities and educational excursions to make the most of our location.
Boarding is in twin bedrooms (GCSE/ Summer School) or single rooms (A Level), with full board on campus.
