บริติช เคานซิล ร่วมกับมหาวิทยาลัย Sheffield Hallam ขอเรียนเชิญท่านเข้าร่วมเวิร์คช็อปพิเศษ "Teaching Students to Write Longer Texts"  โดย คุณ John Wrigglesworth อาจารย์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านการสอนภาษาอังกฤษเชิงวิชาการจากมหาวิทยาลัย Sheffield Hallam เวิร์คช็อปพิเศษนี้เป็นการพัฒนาเทคนิคการสอนโดยการผสมผสานระหว่างเทคนิค academic literacies กับ genre view of texts เพื่อช่วยนักศึกษาในการเขียนบทความขนาดยาวและเปลี่ยนจากการมุ่งเน้นไปที่ไวยากรณ์และความถูกต้องของแต่ละประโยคสู่การให้ความสนใจต่อจุดประสงค์และรูปแบบของข้อเขียนโดยรวม 

เนื้อหาเกี่ยวกับเวิร์คช็อปประกอบไปด้วย

• This workshop will help teachers and lecturers to look critically at how academic literacies combined with a genre view of texts can inform their teaching.
• Presenting the academic literacies model of academic writing and show how it can be used to think about and develop classroom task design. 
• Look at how an ethnographic approach to course design will open up discussion of the writing demands placed on students in different stages of their education. 
• Enable teachers and students to say empowering and fine-tuned things about the use of language, the habits of mind, and the text demands of their discourse communities 
• Reflect on this process and suggests how benefits can be felt in the increased understanding of writing by academics and concrete materials which have an immediate and focussed application to a particular group of students.

เกี่ยวกับวิทยากร 

คุณ John Wrigglesworth ปัจจุบันดำรงตำแหน่งอาจารย์หัวหน้าภาควิชาภาษาอังกฤษเชิงวิชาการที่มหาวิทยาลัย Sheffield Hallam มีความเชี่ยวชาญในวิชาภาษาอังกฤษเชิงวิชาการ Academic Literacies การสอนภาษา และการเรียนรู้แบบออนไลน์หรือ e-learning ผลงานตีพิมพ์เกี่ยวกับ e-learning ล่าสุดของเขาคืองานวิจัยด้านการออกแบบและการกำหนดการใช้งานของพอดคาสต์ John Wrigglesworth มีประสบการณ์การสอนวิชาภาษาอังกฤษเชิงวิชาการและภาษาศาสตร์ประยุกต์ในสถาบันอุดมศึกษาในสหราชอาณาจักรมากว่า 15 ปี ก่อนที่จะเข้ามารับตำแหน่งปัจจุบัน เขาได้ใช้ชีวิตและสอนอยู่ในประเทศจีน ซาอุดิอะราเบีย รัสเซีย ไต้หวัน สหรัฐอเมริกา และอิสราเอล นอกจากนี้ John Wrigglesworth ยังเป็นสมาชิกบริหารของ BALEAP ซึ่งเป็นเครือข่ายระดับโลกของนักวิชาการในแวดวงภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อวิชาการ
