In a world where language learning and assessment solutions are increasingly driven by AI, it is imperative that all stakeholders in the educational ecosystem understand the principles behind these technologies as well as their capabilities and limitations. AI can bring enormous benefits when used responsibly, but it can also have disastrous consequences if we are not aware of or mitigate any potential risks. Making informed decisions about what tools are appropriate and when and how to use them is crucial for success, so learning to assess the technical suitability and societal impact of these tools is a skill we must develop.

To this aim, I will explain must-know concepts in AI, how it can benefit different stakeholders, how we can use tools responsibly and effectively, and how we can identify and minimise potential risks.
