General view of Chulalongkorn university in the evening with the Bangkok skyline in the background

New Directions East Asia 2024 will take place at the historic Chulalongkorn University in the heart of Bangkok. Chulalongkorn University is Thailand’s first institution of higher learning, dedicating itself as a center for academic learning and professional excellence. The university’s mission and commitment to public service uphold the visions of the university’s founder, King Rama VI, who established Chulalongkorn University as a tribute to his father, King Rama V.

The conference will be held in the university's faculty of education in collaboration with our partner, Chulalongkorn University Language Institute (CULI). CULI was founded in 1977 to service the needs of its students for instruction in English language. It is housed in the Prem Purachatra Building – named in honor of a Thai prince and scholar, who in the last century, dedicated himself to the study of the English language and literature.
